Zenith Print

Zenith Print is situated right on Station Road, which means we see a lot of people passing by every hour of the day. The location is great for being near the trains, but the noise of the traffic and the horns never really stops. Our shop is filled with the smell of ink and the heat coming off the printing machines. We have stacks of paper everywhere, from thin sheets to heavy cardstock, and sometimes it feels like the piles might tip over. It’s just how a print shop looks when you’re busy. We handle all sorts of jobs, mostly for local folks who need something done quickly. There is no fancy waiting room or air conditioning that works particularly well, but we have a couple of chairs if someone needs to sit while we finish a run. The floor is stained with different colors of ink that we can never quite scrub off. Most of our work is routine, just checking the alignment and making sure the text is readable. When the big machines are running, you have to shout a bit to be heard over the clicking and sliding parts. We’ve been here for years and we know most of the other shop owners on the street. It’s a hard way to make a living sometimes with the tight deadlines, but we keep the rollers turning and the paper moving through.
