You can find us over on Thita Road in Valsad, right where the construction activity is usually pretty heavy. We share space with the Desai construction folks. Working on expressways in Gujarat means there is never a dull moment. There is always a new stretch of road being planned or maintained. Our day starts early, usually before the heat really kicks in. We handle the logistics and the planning parts of the expressway projects from this office. It’s a lot of maps, dusty boots, and coordinating with the crews out on the pavement. Valsad is a good base for us because it’s well-connected, which is exactly what our work is all about. The office itself is quite functional. We don't have time for a lot of decoration when there are deadlines to meet and heavy machinery to keep track of. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing, and other times it's quiet while everyone is out on-site. We just get on with it. Managing a major road link involves many moving parts, from drainage issues to paving quality. We try to keep things moving as smoothly as the traffic we hope to facilitate. It’s hard work, and we’ve been at it for a while now in this part of Gujarat. The rain sometimes slows things down, but we just adjust the schedule and keep moving. It's a no-nonsense environment where the main goal is just getting the road built right and keeping things on track for the commuters who use them.
