Umiyaji Industries

Our shop is located on Navarangpara Main Road, right at the Benarji Hotel Chowk in Mavdi. If you’re familiar with the area, you know how busy that intersection can get with people stopping for a meal or just passing through. We’ve been here for a good number of years now, and we’ve gotten used to the constant hum of traffic and the shouting of vendors. Our workshop is filled with the various things we use for our industrial work. There are bits of metal on the floor and the walls are a bit stained from the smoke and oil. It’s a real working environment, not a clean office. We don't have a staff that wears uniforms or anything like that. We just wear our regular work clothes that we don't mind getting dirty. Most of our customers are other business owners from around Mavdi who need something made or fixed. We spend a lot of time at our machines, and our hands are usually covered in grease by noon. We often take our breaks at the tea stall just around the corner from the hotel. We don't have a big marketing plan or a corporate philosophy. We just do the work that comes in and try to do it right. The roof leaks a bit when it rains really hard, but we just move the machines out of the way. It’s just how we operate.
