If you go into the Soni Bazar and head toward Kothari Naka, you’ll find us in the Golden Market. We’re at shop 19/26, which is Shri Ashapura Jewellery Box. It’s a busy place, especially during the wedding season when everyone is looking for something to put their jewelry in. The market is full of the smell of street food and the sound of people bargaining. Our shop is small, but we pack a lot of stuff into it. We make and sell boxes of all sizes. Sometimes the shelves get a bit dusty because there’s so much coming in and out, but we try to keep it organized. Soni Bazar is the heart of this kind of work, so we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. It’s a tight squeeze in the lanes, especially when the delivery carts are moving through. We’ve spent many years in this spot, watching other shops come and go while we just keep doing our thing. It’s not a high-end boutique with bright lights; it’s a traditional market shop. We sit on our stools, talk to the customers, and show them what we have available. Most of our regulars are from around here, but we get people from all over who are visiting the Golden Market. It’s a lot of hard work, staying open late and dealing with the heat, but it’s our life. We’re just a regular part of the Kothari Naka scene.
