Shivamy Tradexim

Our office is in the New Empire Building over at India Chowk. It’s right on University Road, which is a pretty central spot. Being near the university means there’s always energy and young people around, which is nice. We handle trade and export-import stuff under the name Shivamy Tradexim. It’s mostly paperwork and coordinating things, so we spend a lot of time on the phone or the computer. The office isn't anything special. We’ve got a couple of desks, a printer that sometimes acts up, and a few filing cabinets. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, one of us just grabs it. We aren't corporate types who wear ties every day. We just wear what’s comfortable and get through the day's tasks. Sometimes shipments get delayed, and we have to spend the whole afternoon sorting it out. That’s just the nature of this business. We don't try to sugarcoat things. We just tell our clients what the situation is. It’s a straightforward approach that seems to work for us. The building is a bit old, but it has a good feel to it. We like being in this part of the city. There’s a good bakery nearby where we usually get our snacks. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living. We keep a stack of newspapers by the window for quiet moments.
