Shivam Clinic

We’ve been running Shivam Clinic here in Jasdan for a good while now. It’s just a plain room in the Taluka where people from around the neighborhood come when they aren't feeling right. Some days the fan makes a bit of noise, but it keeps us cool enough. We see a lot of the same faces because everyone knows everyone in this part of Taluka Jasdan. It’s not a big fancy place with glass doors or anything like that. We have wooden chairs in the waiting area and a desk where we keep all the files organized by hand. Usually, the morning starts around nine when we unlock the front shutters and sweep the floor. Patients start showing up soon after, usually talking about the weather or local news while they wait their turn. It gets quite busy during the monsoon months. We try to keep things simple here without any complicated systems. If you walk down the main street in Jasdan, you’ll find us easily enough. Sometimes we run out of tea in the afternoon, so someone has to go across the road to get more. That’s just how it is here. Most of our day is spent listening to people and checking their temperatures or writing down notes in their cards. We don't have a website or anything, just this physical space where we do our work every day except Sundays when we mostly stay closed.
