We have a small place in Shakti Society, over on Sant Kabir Road. This is where we do all our work with imitation jewelry. If you walked in, you’d see tables covered in beads, wires, and small metal parts. It can look like a bit of a mess to someone who doesn't know our system, but we usually know where everything is. Sant Kabir Road is a pretty busy stretch, so there’s always something going on outside our door. We’ve been here in the society for a while now. Most of the work is very detailed and takes a lot of patience. Your eyes can get tired after a few hours of looking at the small pieces. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s more of a workshop where the actual making happens. Sometimes the local ladies come in to help with the assembly when we have a big order to finish. We sit together, listen to the radio, and just get the job done. It’s a very grounded way to earn a living. We don't use big machines, just small hand tools and a lot of manual work. The evenings are usually our busiest time as we try to pack up the finished items for delivery. It’s a simple life in a busy part of town, and we just keep at it day after day.
