Rasik Foundry

Our foundry is situated in the Sanskar Society area, right on Aji Ring Road. We’re pretty close to the Khokhad Dadi River here in Rajkot. It’s a tough environment, lots of heat and metal. We’ve been running this place for years. The air is often thick with the smell of the furnace. We cast different parts and pieces for machinery. It’s not the kind of place you’d wear a suit to. We’re usually covered in soot by the end of the shift. The river is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We have a routine that we stick to every day. Melt the metal, pour it into the molds, and let it cool. Then we clean the pieces up. It’s a lot of physical labor. The yard has piles of scrap and finished castings waiting to be shipped out. We don't have a fancy office. Most of our time is spent on the floor where the action is. Rajkot is a big hub for this kind of work, so we have plenty of neighbors doing similar things. We just keep our heads down and get the orders out. Some days the heat is really something else, but that’s just part of the job. It’s a basic, hard-working foundry life. We don't do much in the way of talking; we just let the metal do the work. The machines are old but they still run fine if you treat them right. We just keep the fires going and stay focused.
