We handle oil cakes here at our place on Village Road. The facility is spread across Survey numbers 277/1 and 278 in the Paiki area. It’s a busy spot, especially when the trucks are lining up to load or unload. If you’ve ever been down this road, you’ve probably smelled the processing. It’s a very specific scent that stays with you. We’ve been operating this way for a long time now. It’s hard work, dealing with heavy bags and machinery that needs constant oiling. We aren't a big corporation with suits. Most of us wear work boots and get our hands dirty. The day starts early here, usually before the sun is fully up. We have to keep an eye on the quality of the cake because that's what the cattle feed people look for. If the moisture is off, it's a problem. We just try to stay honest with what we produce. The village road can be a bit bumpy, so getting the transport right is always a bit of a puzzle. We don’t have a marketing department. We just rely on the fact that people know where we are and what we do. It’s just a regular business doing regular work every day. We hope the rain stays away when we are loading, otherwise, it's a mess. When the evening comes, we close up the gates and prepare to do it all again tomorrow morning when the first truck arrives.
