R Pandya & Sons

R Pandya & Sons has been a fixture on Karanshinji Road for a long time. It started with my father and now we are the ones keeping the place running. It is a typical local shop on a busy street. We don't have a lot of space, so things are stacked up pretty high on the shelves. You might have to wait a minute while we find what you are looking for in the back. The road outside is always loud with scooters and people shouting, but we are used to it by now. We do a bit of everything here. It is a family-run business, so there isn't any of that corporate stuff you see in the big cities. We just talk to people plainly and tell them what we can do. Sometimes the shop gets a bit disorganized, especially when we have a lot of orders coming in at once. We don't have a computer system to track everything, so we rely on our notebooks and memory. It works for us. Working on Karanshinji Road means we know almost everyone who walks by. We have seen kids grow up and start coming in for their own houses. It is a nice feeling to be part of the neighborhood for so long. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and get to work until it is time to go home. Nothing fancy about it.
