Patel Arts

You’ll find Patel Arts at the Patel Arts Compound on Atika New Nehrunagar Road. We’re over in the Dhebar South area. The compound is where we spend all our time. It’s a bit of a dusty place, mostly because of the work we do. There’s always someone moving something or a sound of work coming from one of the sheds. We don't have a fancy office with a carpet. Most of our floors are concrete because that’s what makes sense for us. It’s a family-run kind of vibe, even if not everyone is related. We've been in this spot for a long time, and the building shows it. There are patches on the roof and the gate squeaks a bit when you open it. We don't mind. It’s where we feel comfortable. People come to us when they need things made or sorted out in the arts and crafts line. We don’t give them a big sales pitch. We just show them what we’re working on. The sun gets quite hot in Dhebar South, so we usually start early to get the bulk of the heavy lifting done before noon. It’s a basic way of living and working. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make things at the compound. Sometimes we sit out in the yard during lunch and just enjoy the bit of shade we can find.
