Om Gems N Jewellery

Our shop, Om Gems N Jewellery, is located in Jayanti Kunj on Vekaria Road. We are part of the 8/9 Ranchhodnagar Society, which is a nice, settled area. Working with gems and jewelry means we spend a lot of time sitting at small benches with very bright lights. It’s quiet work compared to a factory, but it requires a lot of focus. We have various stones and metals that we work on throughout the week. The shop isn't huge, but it's safe and we keep things tucked away in drawers. Most people who come to see us are neighbors or people from around the society who have known us for years. We don't really do the big, flashy advertising you see in the city center. We prefer just doing the work and letting people see it for themselves. Sometimes we are busy resizing a ring, and other times we are looking at loose stones to see what can be made with them. The mornings are usually slow, which gives us time to clean the glass cases and organize the tools. By the afternoon, it gets a bit busier. We often have tea with the other shop owners nearby. It’s a decent way to spend the day, working with your hands and talking to the regulars. Ranchhodnagar is a good community, and we feel like a steady part of it. We just keep our heads down and do the jewelry work, making sure things are done how they should be.
