Nirali Clinic

Our clinic is right at the Laxmiwadi Chowk, on the main road. If you live in this part of town, you’ve definitely passed us a hundred times. It’s a very busy intersection, so there is always the sound of horns and people shouting. The clinic is small, just a couple of rooms on the ground floor. We’ve kept it simple with some basic chairs and a desk where we keep all the patient records in big ledgers. We don't use computers much because the old way works fine for us. We mostly see the people who live right here in Laxmiwadi. It’s a lot of the same faces coming in for their blood pressure checks or for some medicine when they get a fever. We have a small porch out front where people sometimes sit and talk while they wait their turn. It’s not the most modern place, and the paint is peeling a bit near the ceiling, but it’s clean and it’s where we work every day. My brother helps me out with the patients and my wife does the cleaning in the evenings. We don't have a big philosophy, we just see who comes in and try to help them feel a bit better. It’s a local neighborhood clinic and that’s all we ever wanted it to be. Just a part of the daily life at the chowk, watching the traffic go by while we see to the neighbors’ health. It’s been our life for years.
