New Patel Medical

Down here on Shahid Arjun Road in Upleta, things move a bit slower than the big cities. New Patel Medical is right in the Lati Plot area. It’s a neighborhood where everyone kind of knows everyone else. We opened this place to help out with the local needs. We aren't a big chain or anything, just a local shop with shelves reaching up to the ceiling. Sometimes I need a ladder just to get a bottle of cough syrup down for someone. We have a lot of dusty ledgers because we've been here a while. The floor is old tile and it creaks a bit. We get the morning newspaper and a tea from the stall nearby before we start the day. People come in to talk as much as they do to buy medicine. We hear about their kids and their farm work while we look for their prescriptions. It’s a nice way to spend the day, even if the pay isn't huge. We don't have a website or anything like that. If people need us, they just walk in or call the landline. It’s simple, and it works for Upleta. We try to keep a bit of everything so nobody has to travel too far to find what they need. It’s just us doing what we can. We usually close the shutters once the street lights come on.
