I’ve been running Shiv Mobile in Narayan Nagar for a good while now. It’s just a simple shop where I fix screens and help people with their phones when they stop working. Most days are spent sitting behind the counter with a tiny screwdriver in my hand. The shop isn't very big, so it gets crowded quickly if more than three people walk in at once. I try to keep the glass cases clean, but there’s always fingerprints from people looking at the covers and chargers. People around the neighborhood know me, so they just drop their phones off and come back later. Sometimes I can fix it in ten minutes, other times I have to wait for a part to arrive. It’s a lot of squinting at small parts and trying to explain why a battery isn't holding a charge anymore. I started this because I was always good at taking things apart as a kid. Now it’s just my daily job. I don't have a team or anything, it's just me mostly. I close up for lunch and then stay open until late evening when the street gets busy. It’s a simple life, but it keeps me busy and I like being in Narayan Nagar where I grew up. I don't do fancy deals or big sales, just the regular repair work people need to keep their phones going for another year or two.
