Ajanta Tansformer

We are located over at Plot G 1949/2 in Metoda, right near the Avadh Namkeen place on Road No 5. You can usually hear us before you see us because of the heavy metal work going on. Ajanta Tansformer is basically a big workshop filled with copper wire, oil, and heavy steel casings. It’s not a quiet job. We spend our days winding coils and assembling the internals of these big units. Sometimes it’s repair work for someone whose power went out, and other times it’s building something new from scratch. The Rajkot heat doesn't make things easier, especially when you're working with heavy machinery. We have a small crew of guys who have been with us for years. They know exactly how each part fits together. There’s no fancy lobby or air-conditioned waiting room here. If you come by, you’ll probably find us covered in a bit of grease or dust. We keep a pot of tea going most of the day because it helps keep everyone moving. Shipping these things out is always a bit of a project because they’re so heavy, so there’s usually a crane or a big truck involved. It’s practical work that keeps the lights on for other people. We just do our bit and try to keep things running smoothly. It’s a lot of manual labor, but it feels good to finish a unit and see it loaded up.
