Marthias Foundation

Our place is tucked away in Raj Laxmi Society on Street Number 18. If you’re coming down Kothariya Main Road in Rajkot, you have to look for the turn behind the Hudako Quarters. It’s a residential sort of area, so it’s a bit quieter than being right on the main road, though you can still hear the traffic from a distance. Marthias Foundation has been operating out of this spot for a while now. The building is just a regular structure like the others on the street. We don’t have a big sign with lights or anything. Most of the time, the neighbors are just going about their business, drying clothes or washing their porches, while we are inside handling our paperwork. It feels more like a home than a stiff office, which we prefer. Rajkot can get really dusty, so we are always dusting off the desks and the window sills. We have a few chairs for visitors and a couple of old cupboards where we store everything. It’s not a polished environment, but it serves the purpose. Being in the 360002 zip code area means we are close to the heart of the city, but Street 18 feels like its own little world. We open up in the morning, get the cleaning done, and then settle into whatever the day brings. It’s a straightforward way to run things, and we like being part of this local community.
