Manish Wooden Works

Over at Plot No. 304 in the Aji Industries area of the Gidc, you will find Manish Wooden Works. Rajkot is known for this kind of industrial grit, and our workshop fits right in. The air here is usually thick with the scent of freshly cut timber and sawdust. We have been operating out of this Gidc location for some time now, and the routine hasn't changed much. The saws start up early in the morning, and the guys get to work on whatever pieces are lined up for the day. Aji Industries is a busy sector, so there is always noise from the neighboring plots. Our space is filled with wood of all kinds, stacked up in the corners or waiting on the workbenches. We don’t have a fancy office for meetings; most of our conversations happen right there on the floor over the sound of the machines. The floor is almost always covered in a thin layer of shavings, no matter how much we sweep. It’s hot work, especially in the Rajkot summers, but we are used to it. Manish Wooden Works is a place where things are made by hand and with machines that have been with us for years. We focus on the wood and the joinery, making sure everything is solid. It’s a practical, dusty, and loud way to make a living, but it’s what we do every day at Plot 304.
