Excel Ceramic Pvt. Ltd. is located right along the 8-A Highway in the Makansar area of Morbi. If you know this part of the country, you know it is the heart of the tile industry. There are chimneys and factories everywhere you look. Our spot is right in the middle of all that activity. We have been working out of this location for a while now and the rhythm of the highway is just part of our day. The sound of heavy trucks shifting gears and the dust from the road is something we are used to. Inside the gates, it is all about the production lines and getting the ceramics ready. It isn’t a quiet place by any means. There is always the hum of machinery and people moving crates around. We don’t really have a fancy office or anything like that. We spend most of our time out where the work happens. Sometimes things break or the power goes out, and we just deal with it as it comes. That is just how life is in a place like Morbi. We know the neighbors and we see the same faces every day at the tea stalls nearby. It is a community of makers. We are just one part of that big system. We focus on our daily tasks and try to keep things running as smoothly as possible without making a big fuss.
