We’re located at Amrutmanthan House, which is right across from Bharat Bakery in the Sadar area. Being across from a bakery is both a blessing and a curse because it always smells like fresh bread, which makes everyone hungry by 11 AM. Mahta Herbals has been in this spot for a good while. Our building isn't very large, but it’s ours. We spend most of our time dealing with various herbs and roots. The smell inside our place is very different from the bakery; it’s more medicinal and dry. We have bags of raw materials coming in from different places, and we spend the afternoon sorting through them. It’s a lot of manual work, sitting on low stools and checking the quality of the leaves or seeds. We aren't a high-tech lab. We use old scales and simple grinders for most things. The Sadar area is always busy, so there’s a lot of foot traffic outside. Sometimes people wander in thinking we sell something else, and we have to point them back toward the main road. Our team is like a family, really. We eat lunch together and complain about the heat. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or a fancy receptionist. It’s just us in a dusty office surrounded by the smell of herbs and the occasional scent of cookies from across the street.
