Leather Crafts

Being up on the eighth floor of Star Chambers means we have a bit of a view, though we are usually too busy with the materials to look out the window much. Units 803 and 804 are where we keep all the leather and the tools for our daily work. It smells like raw hide and glue in here most of the time, which is something you get used to after the first week of working. We aren't a large factory; it’s more of a workshop feel where things move at a steady pace. Sometimes the elevators in the building are slow, so we end up waiting a while to get the supplies up here. We’ve got benches set up for cutting and stitching, and there is always a bit of scrap leather on the floor by the end of the day. It’s not the most polished office in the world, but it works for what we do. We deal with the local suppliers and try to keep enough stock on hand so we don't run out in the middle of a project. Most of our day is spent at the benches, focusing on the details of whatever piece is in front of us. We have a small kettle in the corner for making coffee when the afternoons get long and the light starts to fade. It’s a simple setup, and we prefer it that way. No big meetings or fancy presentations, just the sound of the machines and the work getting done by our small team.
