We operate out of a couple of plots, G-1324 and G-1325, over here on Kalawad Road in the Lodhika part of Metoda. Having the two spaces side-by-side helps us keep the raw stock separate from the finished parts, though things still get mixed up when we are really busy. The area is always buzzing with activity. There’s a tea stall just down the road where everyone goes at ten and four. It’s a big part of the daily routine here. The floor of the workshop is stained with grease and oil, which is pretty much expected in this line of work. We have a few big machines that take up most of the room, so you have to squeeze past them to get to the back. The roof is corrugated metal and it gets really loud when it rains, sometimes so loud we can’t even hear each other talk. We’ve got a small office near the front where the paperwork piles up, but most of us prefer being out where the actual production is happening. It's not a place for people who like to stay clean. By the end of the shift, everyone has a bit of grime on their hands. We’ve stayed in this location because it’s familiar and we know all the local suppliers nearby. It’s just a normal workshop doing normal work, day in and day out.
