We’ve been out here at Survey No. 30/1 for a good while now. Shapar is a busy place, especially being right on National Highway 8b. If you know the area near Rajkot, you know it gets dusty and loud with all the trucks passing by. At Kalaria Forge Pvt. Ltd., we spend most of our days dealing with the heat from the machines and the heavy smell of metal. It is not a fancy office by any means. It’s a workshop where things get done. Our plot, number 6, is just one of many in this stretch of Veraval, but we’ve made it our home. Most of the guys here have been with us for years, coming in early when the air is still a bit cool before the Gujarat sun really hits. We don't have much time for long meetings or slick presentations. Usually, someone is shouting over the noise of a hammer or checking a measurement under a dim light. The floor is always a bit greasy, and there is a pile of scrap in the corner that we keep meaning to clear out. It is just the way things are when you are working with iron and steel every day. People stop by, ask for directions, or drop off supplies, and we just keep the machines running. It’s hard work, and by the end of the shift, everyone is ready to head home. It is a simple life in an industrial town.
