Kajal Furniture

Our workshop, Kajal Furniture, is located on Street No. 8 in Laxminagar, just off the Nana Mava Main Road. We’re quite close to Nobel Vidhyalaya, so we often hear the school bells and the kids playing during their breaks. Our space is usually filled with the smell of cut wood and the sound of saws or hammers. It’s a messy place, to be honest, with sawdust covering almost everything by the end of the afternoon. We spend our time putting together different pieces, whether it’s a simple table or a set of cupboards. It’s heavy work, and our backs often ache by the time we close up for the night. We have various tools scattered around the benches, and we’re always looking for that one specific chisel or drill bit that we just had a second ago. The Nana Mava area is a busy part of town, so there are always people walking by and peeking into the shop to see what we’re making. We don’t have a fancy showroom; people just see the work as it’s being built right there on the floor. It’s just a few of us here, covered in dust and working with our hands every day. We don't use big fancy machines for everything, a lot of it is just manual effort and taking the time to get the joints right. I guess we stay pretty busy until the sun goes down and it's time to head home after a long day of work.
