Digvijay Foundry

Digvijay Foundry is located in the Aji Vasahat area, specifically on 80 Feet Road in Ramnagar. We are situated right behind the Reliance petrol pump. A foundry is a hot and dusty place to work every day. We spend our time melting metal and pouring it into molds to create parts. The furnaces are the heart of our shop. When they are running, the heat is intense and the light is very bright. We wear heavy gloves and protective gear, but you still feel the high temperature on your skin. The floor is covered in sand used for making the molds. It’s a process that hasn't changed much over the years. We make various cast parts for different kinds of machinery. Some are small and simple, while others are more complex and take more time. It takes a lot of patience to get the sand molds just right. If they collapse during the pour, the whole piece is ruined and we have to start again. We have a small group of experienced workers who have been doing this a long time. They can tell if the metal is ready just by the color of the glow from the furnace. It’s a rough environment and it's certainly not quiet. We just focus on getting the pours right and moving the heavy castings out to the yard once they have cooled down.
