We are over at Ira Trading Corporation, spread across two plots, 127 and 148, here in Jamwadi GIDC-2. Having two spots makes things a bit interesting because we are often moving stuff back and forth between them throughout the day. Jamwadi isn’t the quietest place to work, but it’s where all the action is for businesses like ours. Most of our day is spent checking inventory, loading up trucks, or sorting through the latest shipment that just arrived. The dust gets everywhere in the dry season, so we’re always wiping down desks and boxes. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t have a lot of fancy decorations in the office; it’s mostly just stacks of papers and old ledgers that need filing. Usually, the morning starts with a quick tea and then a look at what needs to be moved out by noon. The guys on the floor know the routine well, so we don't have to talk too much to get things done. Sometimes the trucks get delayed coming into the GIDC area, which can throw our whole schedule off, but you learn to just deal with it. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and moving, and then some sitting around waiting for the next phone call or delivery. We’ve been in this area for a while now and know most of the other folks running shops around Plot 127. It's just a regular trading life, keeping track of what comes in and what goes out. The gate stays open most of the time to let whatever breeze we can get in.
