We’re based at the Galaxy Industrial Estate, specifically units 25 and 28. It’s about 15 kilometers out on the Rajkot-Gondal Road in Shapar. Intricast Pvt. Ltd. is where we do investment casting. The shop floor is always active with people preparing molds and pouring metal. It’s hot work, especially in the summer, but that’s the life of a foundryman. We have a steady group of workers who know their way around the wax patterns and the ceramic shells. The industrial estate is a mix of different businesses, so there’s a constant drone of machinery in the air. We don't have a slick reception area; you basically walk right into the middle of the work. We keep our tools organized as best as we can, though things get messy during a busy shift. Our day starts early before the sun gets too high. We check the batches and make sure the quality is what it needs to be. It’s a practical place for practical people. We don't spend money on fancy brochures or advertisements. Most people find us because they need specific metal parts made to the right size. We take our tea breaks together under the shade when we can. It’s a tough job but there’s a sense of accomplishment when a batch comes out right. We usually have a lot of scrap metal piled in the corner waiting to be recycled.
