Hi-Grip Auto Industries

Hi-Grip Auto Industries is located at Plot No C1/65 in the Aji Industrial Estate, which is part of G.I.D.C. We are right on Road-D, just across from the India Crank Manu. Co. building. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows where that is. We focus on auto components. The floor is usually covered in some kind of oil or metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the business. We’ve got a few lathes and some pressing machines that have been with us since the start. They’re old but they still work fine if you know their quirks. The heat in Rajkot can be pretty intense in the workshop, but we’ve got big shutters we keep open. We aren't some fancy high-tech lab. We’re a bunch of guys in grease-stained shirts making parts. Sometimes we get a big order and have to work through the weekend, other times it’s a bit slower and we catch up on repairs. We don’t do much advertising. Most of our work comes from people we've known for a decade. It’s a steady rhythm. We start the machines at eight and shut them down when the work is done. It’s straightforward. No big mystery to it. We just keep our heads down and get through the pile of work on the desk. Life in the industrial estate is loud, but you get used to the noise after a few weeks of being here on Road-D.
