Our place, Adani Pharmachem Pvt. Ltd., Rajkot, is situated out at Plot No. 2729 To 2731 on Road-I-1 in the Lodhika G. I. D. C. It’s a bit of a trek to get out to Village Metoda, but we have been doing it for so long it feels short. The facility is quite large since it spans several plots. We have to be fairly strict about how we handle things because of the chemicals we use. You will see people walking around in lab coats and hairnets, which looks a bit funny compared to the dusty roads outside. Inside, it is much cleaner than a typical factory, though there is still plenty of noise from the ventilation fans and the processing units. The Rajkot sun can be brutal, so the air conditioning is usually running full blast to keep the materials stable. We spend our days checking scales and filling out logs by hand. It can be repetitive, but you have to pay attention. During lunch, we sit together and sometimes share food from home. The atmosphere is professional but friendly in an old-fashioned way. We know each other's families and how everyone takes their tea. It’s a long day of work in Metoda, and by the time we head back towards Rajkot, we are all pretty tired. But it is good, steady work that keeps us busy and out of trouble.
