If you ever find yourself on Kalavad Road in Rajkot, you might pass by us without even noticing. We are located behind Alap Century in Gunjan Park, specifically at number 68. It is a quiet enough area for us to handle the office side of Essar Construction India Ltd. We aren't into the whole corporate image thing, so the office looks like any other building in the society. Inside, it’s mostly just piles of papers and people talking on their mobiles about cement or steel. We’ve been in Rajkot for a good while now and we know the local scene pretty well. It gets quite hot in the summers, so we keep the fans going and just push through the work. There is always something to fix or a schedule to check on. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because that's not what we are about. We are here to make sure the construction projects stay on track. Sometimes things go wrong at a site and we have to scramble to fix it from here. It’s a lot of coordination and late afternoons. The location is good because we can get to most parts of the city fairly quickly. We just show up every morning, drink some chai, and get to work. It’s a straightforward way to run an office and it works for us. We don't need much else to keep the business going properly.
