We are located behind the Radhe Way-Bridge, right across from Gate No. 1 of the Lodhika G.I.D.C. on Kalavad Road in Metoda. It is a busy industrial spot, and our building is right in the thick of everything. We spend our days manufacturing various types of cables and wires for different uses. The factory floor is usually hot and noisy because the machines run almost all day long without much of a break. We have large spools of copper and big bins of plastic pellets that we use to make the insulation for the wires. It is a lot of physical work, and our clothes usually end up pretty dusty by the end of the shift. The office is just a small room at the front where we keep the ledger and take phone calls from our customers. We do not have any fancy meetings or corporate presentations here; we just get to work. If there is a problem with a machine, we just stand around and figure it out together until it is fixed. The area around Lodhika G.I.D.C. is always full of trucks and other workers, so there is a sense of being part of a larger industrial community. We usually have our tea in the shade of the building during the afternoon break to escape the heat. It is not an easy job, but it is steady work and we take it one day at a time. We have been here for years.
