If you find yourself on Gondal Road, you just need to look for Uco Bank Street. We’re right near Ashok Automotive Co. Chetna Mirror Industries has been in this spot for years. The sound of glass being handled is the background noise of our lives. It’s a heavy, physical kind of work, and the office reflects that. We don’t have fancy carpets or expensive art on the walls. Mostly, it’s just samples of mirrors and some sturdy wooden desks. The street outside is always busy with people and vehicles going to the various shops nearby. Chetna is the name of the family matriarch, and it’s a name we carry with a lot of pride, even if we don’t talk about it much. The workshop can get quite hot in the summer, but we’re used to it by now. We aren't interested in being the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the glass is cut right and the mirrors are clear. Sometimes we have a bit of a backlog and the place looks cluttered, but we always know where everything is. Our neighbors on Uco Bank Street are all hard-working people too, so there’s a good sense of community. We take things one day at a time, making sure we do a decent job for anyone who walks through our doors.
