G. K. Industries

G. K. Industries is tucked away behind Balaji Refrigeration on Street No. 3 in Pragati Society, right off Bolbala Marg. It’s not on the main road, so you really have to know where you’re going to find us. We like it that way because it’s a bit quieter than the big industrial estates. Our workshop is small, basically just a converted space that we’ve made work for our needs over the years. We do a lot of custom work, the kind of stuff that bigger shops don't want to mess with because it takes too much time. It’s just a couple of us here most days, handling the tools and checking the finished pieces. We don't have a front desk or a secretary, so we just answer the door when someone knocks or yells out. The street can get a bit crowded with parked cars and delivery vans, but we manage to get our stuff in and out. G. K. Industries started as a small side project and just grew into a full-time thing for us. We’ve had to learn a lot as we went along by trial and error. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s ours and we know where every tool is kept. We don't spend money on advertising; word of mouth is usually how people hear about our shop. We just try to be fair and get the work done when we promised. It's a small life but it's okay.
