Atmiya Jewellers

Our shop, Atmiya Jewellers, is tucked into Abhinav Apartment on Sahajanand Marg. It’s right off Gondal Road, so it’s easy enough for people to find us. It’s a small place, but it’s where we do all our work with gold and stones. I spend most of my time behind the counter or at the small workbench in the back. Working with jewelry requires a lot of light and a steady hand. My eyes get tired by the end of the day from looking at small details through the loupe. We do repairs and also make new pieces when someone asks. It’s not like a big showroom in a mall. People come here because they know us or their parents knew us. We have old scales and tools that have been used for a long time. The shop has a particular smell, a bit like metal and polishing compound. Sometimes customers come in just to get a ring resized or a chain fixed. We listen to their stories while we work. It’s a personal kind of business. We don't have a lot of security guards or fancy displays. Just some glass cases and our tools. Gondal Road is always busy, but inside the shop, it’s usually quiet. We take pride in what we do, even if it’s just a small repair. It’s a decent way to make a living and stay connected to the community here. We just keep our heads down and focus on the work.
