Asiatic Bearing Co. is based in Rajkot, right in the Aji Industrial Estate, Phase-I. Our unit is C-1/18. Rajkot is a city that loves its machinery, and we are right in the middle of it. The estate is full of small and medium workshops. We handle bearings, so there is a lot of metal and oil around. It’s a heavy job sometimes. The shelves are packed with boxes of all sizes. We spend a lot of time counting stock and making sure the right sizes go to the right people. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s honest work. The dust from the road outside usually finds its way into the shop, so we spend time cleaning the counters. Our team is small, mostly guys who have worked in the estate for years. We know the other shop owners on the block. Sometimes we share a tea and talk about how the market is doing. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or any of that. We just answer the phone and help the people who walk in. If you’re looking for us, we’re in the first phase of Aji. It’s a bit of a maze, but look for the sign over our door. We’ve been here a long time and don’t plan on going anywhere else. It is noisy and dirty, but we are used to the grind by now.
