We operate Ashish Manufacturer out of the Atika Industrial Area in Rajkot. Our specific spot is on Street No. 3, right behind the Atika Rubber Mill. It’s an industrial neighborhood, so don’t expect a quiet office park. There are trucks moving in and out all day, and the sound of machinery is pretty much constant. We’ve been in this shed for years. It’s got a tin roof and it gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have a few big fans that keep the air moving. Our work is hands-on. We make things here, and that involves a lot of sweat and heavy lifting. We don’t have a marketing department or a fancy website. Most of our orders come from other businesses in the area or people who have been buying from us since we started. The floor is concrete and usually covered in bits of metal or dust from whatever we are working on that day. We start early in the morning before the heat gets too bad. The guys here have been working together for a long time, so we don’t need to talk much to get things done. We just know the routine. If you come by, you’ll find us in our work clothes, probably busy with a machine. It’s a grit-and-grind type of place. We make what people need and we make sure it’s solid before it goes out the door.
