Arjunsingh Rana Sports Foundation

Our small office is located at B/202 in the Shrushti Appartment complex, which is right across from Gondhiya Hospital on Kalawad Road in Rajkot. Being on Kalawad Road means it is quite easy for people to find where we are, even if the parking around the hospital is always a total mess. We started the Arjunsingh Rana Sports Foundation because we all really care about our local sports and the kids who play them every day. We aren’t a big, fancy academy with green fields and expensive equipment. We are just the ones handling all the background work from a second-floor apartment. There are usually some old cricket bats or footballs leaning against the wall in the hallway. It gets a bit cramped and stuffy when more than a few people show up at the same time. We spend a lot of our day on the phone with coaches or trying to organize small local matches for the neighborhood teams. Our main desk is usually covered in old notebooks and tournament brackets written on various scraps of paper. It is definitely not the most organized system in the world, but we know where everything is kept. Rajkot has a lot of hidden talent in its streets, and we just want to help out where it makes sense. We don't have a big budget at all, so we do most of the work ourselves, from carrying heavy gear to setting up the weekend schedules.
