Our place, Applied Auto Parts Pvt Ltd, is tucked away in the Lodhika GIDC area. We’re over at Plot No 1608-10 on Road-F. If you head towards the Almighty Gate in Metoda, you’ll eventually find us off Kalavad Road. It’s an industrial zone, so don’t expect anything pretty. There’s a lot of dust and the roads aren't always the smoothest. We spend our days surrounded by metal bits and boxes. We aren't much for talking about ourselves in a big way. We just get the orders in and try to get them out on time. The sun hits the metal roof in the afternoons and it gets quite warm, but we've got enough fans to keep it bearable. Most of the guys here live nearby, so we’ve become a bit of a work family. We don't use much technology beyond what we need to keep track of the stock. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and packing. Sometimes the delivery trucks get lost trying to find our specific plot because the numbering can be confusing for new drivers. We usually have to walk out to the gate to wave them in. It's a simple operation. We don’t have a fancy website or a PR person. We just have our shop floor and the work that needs to be finished before the day ends. It’s a long trek out here for some, but for us, it’s just where we work every day and we’re used to the dust and the noise.
