If you go to University Road and find the Viraj Complex, we are right there on the first floor. It’s across from Panchayat Nagar and near the Krishna Complex. Being on the first floor means people have to walk up the stairs, but we get plenty of visitors anyway. We do a lot of creative work with clothing and designs here. The space is filled with rolls of cloth and different patterns we are working on. It’s often a bit noisy with the traffic from the road coming through the windows. We try to keep things organized but when you are busy making things, it gets cluttered fast. My cousin helps me with the day-to-day stuff and we usually have tea brought in from the stall downstairs around four o'clock. We started this small and it just grew bit by bit. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town, just a place where things are made well. Sometimes customers bring in their own ideas and we see what we can do with them. It’s interesting to see what people like. The neighborhood is changing a lot with new buildings going up, but our spot in Viraj Complex stays the same. We just keep our heads down and focus on the next piece of work sitting on the table. It’s a decent life and we enjoy the people we meet. There is always a new project to start as soon as the old one is finished.
