We’ve been over here at 3, Umakant Pandit in Udhyognagar for quite a while now. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but it’s where we spend most of our daylight hours. Anand Forge is basically just a small group of us working with metal every day. It gets pretty loud with the hammers going, and the heat in Udhyognagar can be a lot, especially in the summer months. Most of the people around here know us because we’ve been in this same spot for years. We don't really do much fancy talking or big presentations. If you come by, you'll probably see someone covered in a bit of soot or grease. That’s just how it is when you’re dealing with forging work. We start early, usually before the sun gets too high, and stay until the jobs are done. The street outside can get a bit crowded with trucks and bikes, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in town, just a steady one. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to fix them ourselves, which takes time. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and moving stuff around the floor. We keep our tools organized as best as we can, though things tend to get messy by noon. People stop by to ask questions or check on their orders, and we just tell them how it stands. No fluff or extra talk needed.
