Our workshop is Amidhara Pump Ind. and you can find us near the Gamara Petrol Pump in the Dindayal Industrial Area. We are right off the NH 8B Ring Road here in Rajkot. It’s a busy spot with trucks constantly roaring past on the highway. Inside the shed, it’s mostly the sound of metal being turned on lathes and the smell of machine oil. We make pumps, so there are iron castings and pipes piled up in the corners. It’s a dusty place, and your hands are going to get greasy if you hang around for more than five minutes. We have a small crew of guys who know how to assemble the motors and check the seals. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a batch for a customer who is waiting on the Ring Road to pick them up. The office is just a tiny room with a desk covered in invoices and blueprints. We don't have air conditioning out on the floor, so we drink a lot of water and keep the big doors open for whatever breeze comes through. It’s a straightforward industrial job. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Rajkot, we just want the pumps to work right so the farmers and builders don't have problems later. It’s a noisy, busy life, but it’s what we do every day from morning until the sun goes down over the busy highway.
