Our place is at Plot No. 2628/2, near Kranti Gate in the Lodhika GIDC area of Metoda. It’s a large industrial plot where we handle all the Alay Electricals work. The sun hits the metal roof pretty hard in the afternoons, so it gets quite hot inside the shed. We have machines running and people moving parts from one side to the other. It’s not a quiet place. There is always the sound of something being moved or fixed. We have a small office section, but most of the action happens on the main floor. The road outside Kranti Gate is usually busy with transport trucks coming and going all day. We spend a lot of time checking the electrical components we deal with. There are piles of metal and plastic bits everywhere. It’s a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know where everything is. We take our breaks under the shade of the small tree near the entrance when we can. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is usually the highlight of the morning. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to make the place look pretty for photos. It’s a real working environment. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure the shipments are ready. Metoda is a tough place to work because of the heat, but we’ve been here long enough to call it home. It's just us doing our thing every day.
