You can find Acme Forgings right out on the Rajkot-Gondal Highway. We are pretty easy to spot because we are right across from Vikram Steel and near the T.B. Hospital area. Being on the highway means we see a lot of trucks passing by all day and night. Inside the gates, it’s a different world. Forging is a heavy, hot job. We have hammers and furnaces that make the whole place vibrate when they’re going full tilt. It’s not the kind of place you’d wear a suit to. Most of us are in work clothes that have seen better days. We’ve been at this spot for a long time, watching the highway get busier every year. The work we do is basic but necessary. We take metal and we shape it. There’s a lot of sweating involved, especially during the summer months when the sun hits the roof. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just have a production schedule that we try to stick to. Sometimes we fall behind, or a machine needs a part we can't find, and we have to scramble. That's just how it is. It's an honest living out here on the road. We know our neighbors, we know the local tea stalls, and we know how to handle the steel. It’s a plain, hardworking life at Acme. We just focus on getting the hammers moving every morning. It’s loud, it’s hot, but we like it.
