Tulsi Kirana Store

Our little shop, Tulsi Kirana Store, is sitting right here in Urwaliya village. We are very close to the primary school, which means we see a lot of kids and parents every single day. The post office is nearby too, so this part of the village stays pretty busy with people running their errands. We mostly just focus on keeping the shelves full of the basics. You will find lentils, rice, soaps, and those small packets of biscuits the school children like so much. It is not a big place and we do not have fancy lights or anything like that. It is just a regular room with wooden shelves and a counter. Sometimes the delivery trucks take a while to get here because the roads can be a bit rough after it rains. We spend a lot of time just chatting with neighbors who come in for a kilo of sugar or some tea leaves. It gets dusty being near the main path, so there is always a bit of cleaning to do. We have been in this spot for a while now. Most people know where to find us. We don't really do any advertising. We just open up in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. We like being a part of Urwaliya. It is where we live and where we work every day.
