Maa Shakti

We’re located at Nim Chowk, right near Ronak Bhojnalaya. It’s a pretty central spot in the neighborhood, so we see a lot of action throughout the day. People are always stopping by on their way to grab a meal or just passing through the chowk to get to the other side of town. Maa Shakti is a modest place. We don’t have any fancy signs or expensive furniture. It’s mostly just us and the tools of our trade. We started this because we wanted to work for ourselves and be part of the local community. It’s been an interesting journey so far. Some days the weather is great and we leave the door wide open, and other days we’re huddled inside trying to stay dry. We don’t follow a script when people walk in. We just talk to them like neighbors, because most of the time, they are. Being near the bhojnalaya is nice because the smell of food is always around, which makes us hungry earlier than we probably should be. We don’t have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just want to do a good job and make sure people are satisfied with what we do. It’s a simple way to live and it suits us fine. We’ve gotten to know the rhythms of Nim Chowk pretty well over the years. It’s a busy little corner of the world, and we’re happy to be here.
