If you go to Gandhi Chowk in Pachore, near the Mian Market, you’ll see Ankur Stores. We are right in the middle of District Rajgarh, which means it’s always loud and full of people. Our shop has a bit of everything, but we focus on the essentials that people in the neighborhood need every day. It’s a tight space because we try to fit as much stock as possible on the shelves. During the market days, it gets so crowded outside that you can barely see our front door, but our regular customers know how to find their way in. We’ve been here for years, and I’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own homes. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and we don't really bother with fancy displays or big signs. We just open up early and stay late until the last of the market crowd clears out. Pachore is a place where people talk to each other, so news travels fast, and we hear a lot of it across the counter. Sometimes we are out of something and have to wait for the next delivery truck to struggle through the traffic, but people are usually patient. It’s just how life goes in a busy market town like this one. We keep the doors open through rain or heat because people rely on us to have what they need for their families.
