Our place is in Nethaji Nagar, which is part of the Kattedan area. We go by V P F L Film. We don't make movies or anything like that; we deal with industrial films and packaging materials. The facility is a bit tucked away, so people sometimes miss the turn. Kattedan is known for its industries, so there’s always smoke and noise around. Inside our building, it’s mostly rolls of plastic and machines that hum all day. We have a small staff. Most of us have been working together for a long time. We don’t have a human resources department or a PR person. We just talk to each other and get the orders out. The floors are concrete and the walls could use a new coat of paint, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time loading rolls onto pallets. It’s physical work. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend a few hours getting them back in line. We don't use much technology besides what's necessary for the job. We prefer doing things the old-fashioned way, where a handshake and a word are enough. It’s a gritty environment, but it’s honest. We just keep producing what’s needed and making sure the trucks are loaded right. We've been in Nethaji Nagar for a long time now and we've seen many businesses come and go. We just stay focused on our own daily tasks.
