M/S Binani Cement Ltd

We are located right in the middle of things at Binaingram. If you look for A 103, that’s where you’ll find our office for Binani Cement Ltd. Living and working in a place like Binaingram is different because everything revolves around the cement works. You can see the dust on the trees and the trucks lined up for miles sometimes. Our office is pretty basic, just a place for us to keep the schedules and the payroll in order. It’s a company town, so everyone you meet is usually connected to the plant in one way or another. We don't really do much besides focus on the cement production and getting the bags loaded. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s what keeps the place going. Some of us have been here for years and we’ve seen the way the site has grown. It gets really loud during the shifts, but you stop noticing the noise after a few months. We don’t have any big missions or slogans on the walls. We just have a lot of calendars and clipboards. It’s a very practical way to live. The days are long and the work is physical for a lot of the guys, but we make sure the admin side stays caught up. It’s just how life is here in the cement colony. There’s always another load to move and another shift to start.
