Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(Ecc Div.)

Being out here in Alhaua village is a bit different from being in the big city. We are situated in the Ghatampur area of Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. This branch of the ECC Division of Larsen & Toubro Ltd. is basically right in the middle of everything. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the local conditions and making sure the site work keeps going. It’s a quiet spot most days, though things get loud when the heavy work starts. The post office is nearby in Ghatam Pur, so we see the local folks pretty often. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a group of workers trying to finish what we started in this district. Mirzapur has its own way of doing things, and we have adapted to that over the years. Some of us live close by, while others travel in from further out in the state. The office is practical, nothing flashy, just desks and plans spread out everywhere. We don't have much in the way of amenities, but we have enough to get through the day. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or find something else to do. It is just the reality of working in a village setting. We know the local roads well by now. We keep the files organized on the shelves so we don't lose track of the project deadlines. It’s a simple life but it works for us.
