Hindustan Zinc Ltd.

This branch of Hindustan Zinc Ltd. is situated at 1/22, Uday Park Soc., right behind Panchawati on the Gorwa-Refinery Road in Vadodara. Being on the Refinery Road means we are right in the thick of the industrial side of the city. It is a busy area with a lot of trucks and movement all day long. Our office is part of the Uday Park Society, so it has got a bit of a community feel to it despite being so close to the heavy industry. The office itself is quite plain. We have a front door that leads into a main working area where most of us sit. It is a bit noisy because of the road outside, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We handle the local logistics and some of the administrative work for this region. We do not have a lot of fancy tech, just the standard computers and printers we need to get through the day. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to sit and wait, which is a good excuse to have some chai and catch up. The walls are mostly bare except for a few calendars and some old maps of the area. We are not here to look pretty; we are here to work. It is an honest place where everyone knows their job and gets on with it. We have been at this Vadodara address for quite a while now, and it is home.
